YIHA (Your Intelligent Health Assessment

We’re excited to see one of our integration partners, YIHA (Your Intelligent Health Assessment), featured by New Zealand Doctor Rata Aotearoa.

YIHA integrates seamlessly with Medtech Evolution using our Medtech ALEX® API, helping practices streamline patient reviews and assessments by automatically transferring completed patient information into the PMS saving valuable administration time and supporting more efficient clinical workflows.

If you’re interested in learning more about how YIHA is using the Medtech ALEX® API to connect to Medtech Evolution, have a read of the article below.

If you’re a developer or healthcare technology provider looking to integrate your own solution with Medtech Evolution, we’d love to talk. Get in touch with our sales team to learn more about enabling API access and how we can support your integration journey.

Napier doctor’s bid to save GPs time and money | New Zealand Doctor

Speeding up workflows and reducing the time GPs spend on assessments and reviews is the driving force behind Your Intelligent Health Assessment.

The digital assessment tool, YIHA, is now fully integrated with Medtech Evolution. It was designed by Napier-based specialist GP and Adjutant Health chief executive David Moeller.

Dr Moeller was born in Germany, where he trained as a senior emergency physician and family medicine consultant. He immigrated to New Zealand in 2019 and now works for Hawke’s Bay Wellness Centre. In 2013, Dr Moeller cofounded Adjutant Limited with UK-based specialist GP and web developer Calum Patrick.

The idea behind the tool is to help GPs and other health professionals streamline their work and avoid getting bogged down, Dr Moeller says.

When a practice or a patient requests a review or an assessment, a customised link is sent – usually when an appointment is booked – either via the practice website or a YIHA address.

The patient completes the form online in their own time and once completed, a PDF is emailed to a dedicated practice inbox. “And then 20 or 30 questions the GP might ask a patient are already answered when they turn up three days later for a consultation.”

The system covers a wide range of assessments and reviews, including ADHD, autism, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, oral contraceptives, depression, anxiety, hormone replacement therapy, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. It can also be used for administrative tasks, such as repeat prescriptions, medical certificates, patient registrations and feedback.

“In terms of workability and the convenience of using it, it’s huge,” Dr Moeller says.

The tool was first developed in 2023 and has been refined since.

YIHA now requires little to no data entry by the practice.

“I used to get a PDF, and then you had to go into Medtech and enter the answers and stats,” Dr Moeller says.

But once a patient completes a form, the data transfers directly into Medtech Evolution. “It takes about 10 seconds to come through.”

As a result, it reduces administration and processing time. The tool is optimised for mobile phones, allowing patients to complete forms on a smartphone, he says.

“We don’t store any personal patient data any more. After the patient completes a review or assessment, it sends it to the practice and deletes it from our server.”

YIHA allows GPs to keep on top of much-needed reviews and assessments, Dr Moeller says.

“I might see a patient for something totally unrelated, say they have knee pain. I might have already addressed that in the consultation, but I see their asthma review, or blood pressure review, is overdue.

“So, I will send them a link, and we might need a follow-up appointment. It’s the clinician that’s totally in the driving seat, and there’s no AI involved.”

Dr Moeller suggests that practices charge patients a small fee for using the tool. “We recommend charging…something because of the admin involved.”

While it is currently integrated with Medtech Evolution, he says other practice management system providers are showing interest, and he is not ruling out working with others, including in Australia.
