Darlene Natoli (Practice Manager) and Hannah Chung (Administration Manager) from Island Bay Medical Centre share how Medeor® has positively impacted the practice’s day-to-day running.

Island Bay Medical Centre has 35 staff members and is increasing in size, with 100 new patients per month, so they are always looking for ways to help them be a bit sharper and smarter. Medeor® is a product that has helped “significantly reduce our stress and time,” says Hannah.

Medeor® is a payment management solution comprising of Pay by Link (PBL) and Point of Sale (EFTPOS). PBL allows a practice to send monthly statements and invoices to patients to pay online to manage patient debt and payment reconciliation automatically. Point of Sale is an EFTPOS terminal in your practice that automates manual tasks, including payment creation, reconciliation, surcharging and refunds.

Medeor® has saved Island Bay Medical Centre over $1000 a month since taking it up in 2022 by not having to send out paper statements in the mail, instead utilising PBL to send account holders’ statements. They introduced Medeor® Point of Sale in early 2024. One of the most significant differences the team at Island Bay Medical Centre has noticed is the elimination of keying errors on the EFTPOS terminal. With Medeor®, the payment amount is now automatically added by Evolution, and “now there are no mistakes,” said Darlene. With a Point of Sale terminal, they save 30-60 minutes on EFTPOS reconciliation every day.

Before using Medeor® Point of Sale, Island Bay Medical Centre was surcharging its customers for PayWave and credit card transactions and had to raise a second invoice for each surcharge amount. If a surcharge is passed onto patients, with Medeor® it can be added automatically to transactions, dramatically reducing the time spent invoicing. Patients who don’t wish to pay a surcharge can use a debit card and insert or swipe their card. “Patients have the choice to pay for the convenience of tap and go,” says Darlene. It also makes it easier for a practice to pass on the surcharge fee, without extra admin, rather than absorbing it as a business cost.

Are you interested in learning more about Medtech Medeor® and how it can work for your practice?
