Practices are first required to sign an informed consent agreement with each third party connecting to their PMS. Each of these third parties will then be vetted by Medtech and your practice consent agreement will be included in our Medtech Partner agreement with each third party. There are no approved security standards or appropriate safeguards for this connection, and your informed consent may not have been requested. This connection unnecessarily exposes your (vulnerable) patient, staff and financial data to inadvertent sharing or extraction. It also slows down the operation of your PMS and when Medtech releases an update, these connections can break and it is difficult to identify the source of the issue in order to fix it. With ALEX<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00ae<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> data can only be accessed or extracted from your site for a required and permitted healthcare event, and only with your practice consent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ALEX<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00ae<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> leaves vendors free to concentrate on designing innovative applications and services for primary care because they no longer have to create and maintain a connection to your PMS.
