Fortis Malar Hospital, formerly known as Malar Hospital, is a multi-specialty corporate hospital in Chennai, and part of Fortis Healthcare Limited, India’s leading integrated healthcare delivery service provider.  The multi super-specialty hospital provides comprehensive medical care in areas of cardiology, cardio-thoracic surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, nephrology, gynaecology, gastroenterology, urology, paediatrics, diabetes and more.

VitelMed is Medtech’s flagship telemedicine product which addresses the ever increasing needs of patients and healthcare providers in regions that are not well-served by qualified medical personnel.

The VitelMed solution was developed with the aim of providing high quality telemedicine solutions for monitoring patients during an emergency and in the rehabilitation of critical and chronically ill patients. It combines video, clinical data and workflow information with remote connectivity between the doctor, the caregiver, and the patient to improve the effectiveness of emergency response care. This leads to demonstrated improvement of the quality of care provided to the patient.

Medtech and Fortis Malar Hospital will jointly and proactively develop, promote and develop the fast evolving opportunities in telemedicine, tele-consultation and electronic medical records, and the opportunities in managed care services.
