With the outbreak of coronavirus, to protect patients and practice staff, the Ministry of Health is recommending that practices activate and use the NZ ePrescribing Service (NZePS).
NZePS allows an electronic version of the standard hard copy of a prescription given to a patient to also be retrieved by a community pharmacy. There is no change to your workflow when prescribing and printing a prescription, but rather there are new features available for you to use.
We have anticipated this change and are ready to guide and assist you on the process of how to incorporate this into your workflow. Your practice can activate the NZePS service directly within your Evolution PMS system.

The Ministry of Health has introduced new rules to make it easier for you to provide paperless electronic prescriptions to support virtual care. This is especially important during this COVID-19 epidemic when exchanging paper prescriptions between prescriber, patient and pharmacy is burdensome, challenging and unsafe.
The Medtech Evolution application has been approved for Paperless Prescribing (Signature Exempt Prescriptions) by allowing you to attach an NZePS prescription to an email to send it to the community pharmacy on behalf of your patients.
